Joining us tonight on Gun Nuts Radio at 9pm Eastern time will be pro shooter for Team Smith & Wesson, 2 time Steel Master, and all around nice guy BJ Norris. BJ will be talking about his experiences being a young guy in the sports, as well as what we can expect from him in the future.
We'll also be discussing current events and news, so make sure you join us tonight at 9pm for Gun Nuts Radio! It's live at www.blogtalkradio.com/gunnuts - and it is most assuredly where the cool kids will be. One of the neat things about tonight's guest is that BJ Norris has an excellent view on what we can do to attract young and new shooters to the sport; being a young shooter himself (he started shooting at age 11 in 2000) he's seen a side of the sport that a lot of other folks haven't seen. The other thing we'll be discussing with BJ is his recent enlistment in the US Army, and his decision to go Airborne (which we fully support), so don't miss the show tonight at 9pm Eastern time: www.blogtalkradio.com/gunnuts!
Also, check out this week's featured product from Amazon.com - the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, which if you're a fan of spaghetti westerns and classic rock you should definitely pick up. It's worth the 9 bucks Amazon wants for it, trust me.

Gun Nuts Radio: Guns are f***ing cool
In football, there's a phrase that's used - "moving the chains", which is when a team gets a first down and retains possession of the ball for another series of downs. Moving the chains is a good thing, because it gets you closer to scoring. I feel like last night's Gun Nuts Radio, despite the shenanigans, moved the chains on the open carry debate. At the very least, my opinion is starting to change on the subject, because I used to be 100% opposed to open carry on the grounds that it did more harm than good. But what I'm seeing from these open carry encounters outside political rallies are people obeying the law, and conversations are happening as a result. We discussed the pros and cons of open carrying at Tea Parties - and you can listen to the show by clicking here. If you'd like an .mp3 copy, click here.
We also read off the winners of Steel Challenge, including Julie Golob, Jessie Abbate, TGO, etc, and congratulations to the winners for an excellent match!
As these things do, the discussion swerved into a conversation about how the media treats firearms as subject matter. One of the most interesting trends that I have seen in the media treatment of guns is that you're getting more shows like Future Weapons and Lock 'N Load with R. Lee Ermey. These shows are all about guns, and they demonstrate one key fact: guns are f***ing cool.
Check out last night's Gun Nuts Radio - the debate on open carry at Tea Parties was excellent, as was the conversation about media treatment of firearms. Next week we'll be joined by Steel Master BJ Norris for the show, so don't miss out!

Gun Nuts Tonight: Tea Parties and Heaters
Tonight on Gun Nuts Radio at 9pm Eastern, we'll be talking about Tea Parties - specifically, the folks that have been open carrying at the Tea Party/Healthcare protests. I am of two minds on this issue, because on the one hand I love watching the media get the vapors over this stuff, but on the other hand I'm not sure it helps our cause.
The call in lines will be open tonight at 9pm Eastern time: 347-539-5436, and we want to hear from you! How do you feel about people open carrying at the protests against Pres. Obama and/or Tea Parties? Hear us, and be heard tonight at 9pm at www.blogtalkradio.com/gunnuts.

Gun Nuts Radio - we grind axes
In fact, you could say that after last night's show, the edges on our various axes have been honed to a razor. I was a little taken aback by the number of complaints, especially at the end of the show - I ended up running out of time and couldn't get to a couple of callers at the end. It was a great show however, and we even managed to get a report from Camp Perry from Breda. Check out the show, or click this link to download a handy .mp3 of the show.
Next week's show, we're hoping to feature some of the top shooters from Steel Challenge, which will have just concluded a few days prior, and crowned a new champion. Check it out live at 9pm next Tuesday!
In the meantime, make sure that you subscbribe to Gun Nuts on iTunes to get all of our episodes on demand the second they're complete; you can also check out the Gun Nuts Gear Shop to show your support for the best shooting sports podcast out there!

Gun Nuts Radio Hateraede
Due to the popularity of a previous segment wherein listeners were asked to share their grievance with our federal government, tonight's Gun Nuts Radio will focus primarily on the grinding of axes. You've got a grievance? We've got a forum. Whether it's with the federal government, a firearms company, your mother-in-law, as long as it's related to politics or the shooting/hunting/outdoor sports, I want to hear from you tonight at 9pm Eastern time. The show goes live at 9pm, and we can be reached by calling 347-539-5436 - as always we're live at www.blogtalkradio.com/gunnuts.
The way I see it, my therapist said it's good for me to vent my frustrations, so I might as help provide catharsis for all of our dear listeners out there, right? Join me tonight at 9pm Eastern time - bring your axes and your grindstones to Gun Nuts Radio!

Gun Nuts Radio and Larry Correia
I honestly don't know what to say about last night's show, other than the fact that it was totally rad. If you don't believe me, you can of course click here to hit the show page, where you'll hear the entire hour of awesome: from the Daniel Defense DDXV to Larry Correia of MHI fame. The show was great, we had over 20 callers, of which 11 were new to the show (counting last week) so sometime this week I'll be cutting a check to NRA-ILA for $55. Again, the show on the DDXV and Monster Hunter International can be downloaded by clicking that link, or if you prefer an .mp3 version, just click here.
For the DDXV fans, I'll be getting the video portion of the review edited and uploaded shortly. Because our chat feed was done, I need to get the audio sync'd up with the video I recorded on my backup camera, but once that's done I'll have that on Youtube for your viewing pleasure.
I can't thank our guests and sponsors enough for last night's show, of course Larry and Daniel Defense for supplying the topics, and then our callers and fans for making it possible. If you'd like to buy a copy of Larry's book, you can just click the title image on the show page to be redirected to Amazon, and you'll also be supporting Gun Nuts by doing that.
For our iTunes listeners, you know the drill - click here for instructions on adding the show to your RSS feed for iTunes, or just visit the iTunes store and search for "Gun Nuts Radio". Last night's show was easily one of my favorite shows, and I'd like your support to make it our most popular show ever. Just hit the show page and listen to Gun Nuts Radio, featuring the Daniel Defense DDXV and Larry Correia, author of Monster Hunter International!

Gun Nuts Tonight: Books and Boomsticks!
I know that I say this every single week - but if you're going to listen live to just one episode of Gun Nuts Radio, you should make it tonight's episode. Joining us live tonight will be Larry Correia, former FFL holder, current 3-gun shooter, and of course the author of the wildly popular Monster Hunter International novel. Larry will be joining us live to talk about shooting, the book business, his writing, and (hopefully) give us the skinny on any sequels to MHI.
That's not all, though. I told you this show would be jam packed with awesome, and I wasn't kidding. We're also going to be giving live viewers and listeners and exclusive first look at the Daniel Defense DDXV rifle. You'll see live on the Gun Nuts Radio webcast before you see in stores, in gun magazines, or anywhere else. The video is only available to live listerners though, so if you're not live, then you'll miss the visual component of the DDXV.
Also, because of last week's drought of new callers, I'm continuing my offer to donate $5 to NRA for every new caller that calls in tonight. If you've never called Gun Nuts Radio before, and you call us to talk about the carbine, or to ask Larry a question, then I'll donate $5 to NRA to help preserve our right to keep and bear arms. The call in number is 347-539-5436, and as usual, the show goes live at 9pm Eastern time.
