Gun Nuts: year in review

A little bit of pedantry prior to last night's show recap: we are not starting a new decade in 2010. The new decade starts in 2011. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, on to the show recap! If you missed the show, you can of course listen to the archived version here. It started strong and stayed strong, as Breda and I revisted our favorite shows of 2009, including such great shows as the interview with Rob Pincus, the show with Larry Correia, or both of the shows with Julie Golob. There were so many great moments in 2009 that it's hard to narrow it down to just one or two that were our favorites. To listen to Breda and I list our best and worst shows of '09, click here for the episode or click for the .mp3 copy.

After talking about shows, we opened up the lines for some great callers to talk about our best and worst moments in politics from 2009, which surprisingly is almost over. It just seems like yesterday that we crowned our Emperor God-King Obama, and I've still yet to receive my magical unicorn with saddlebags full of fresh cash. The callers were great, as everyone had a different take on what has been bad and good about 2009 in the realm of politics. While many things have been just wretched, we've also made some great gains in the 2nd Amendment front, as we continue to watch the Brady Campaign spiral into utter irrelevancy.

As usual, the show is available for download on iTunes as well, just click the handy button: Gun Nuts Host - Gun Nuts Radio: The Next Generation of Shooting | Blog Talk Radio Feed - Gun Nuts Radio: The Next Generation of Shooting | Blog Talk Radio Feed and you can download the entire archive! We have been so privileged and blessed to be able to bring this show to you each week. After putting our first full year under our belts, I can't wait to see what 2010 is going to bring us in terms of new shows, new guests, and some old friends. For everyone that's taken time to tune in, thank you so much. We'll see you on Tuesday nights in 2010 at 9pm Eastern time! Tell a friend!

Gun Nuts Last Night: Christmas and Fox

Thank God for Gun Nuts Radio. After a relatively stressful day, last night's show was the perfect thing for me to unwind, and unwind we did because it was absolutely a great show. As an fyi, the first 10-15 minutes we had some issues with Breda's audio, but that got squared away most rickey-tick. On the show, we obviously talked the appearance on Fox News, but we also had a much lighter topic: Christmas! Click here to listen to the show, or if you'd like a mobile version click here for the .mp3 format.

One of the things I'd like to reinforce is how utterly ashamed I am of the Herald Times. The whole time this saga has been going on, the HTO has stood by their database, claiming it has nothing to do with gun control, even though a member of the Brady Campaign defended it for them. What's truly interesting though is that when the stakes were raised, the HTO didn't have the courage to stand by their convictions and defend their database in front of a national audience. Cowardice is a ugly word, but in this case it's an apt description.

We then talked about 10 gun nut Christmas gifts - if you'd like to hear both Breda and my full list, check out the show at the links above, or by downloading it from Gun Nuts Host - Gun Nuts Radio: The Next Generation of Shooting | Blog Talk Radio Feed - Gun Nuts Radio: The Next Generation of Shooting | Blog Talk Radio Feed. A couple of the items from my list are available for immediate purchase, including the Gun Nuts 2010 calendar, the ammo from LuckyGunner.Com, and finally the fully customizable tactical coffee mug from The Gun Nuts Store.

We're going to be taking next week off for the Christmas holiday, so spend time with your families and enjoy your Christmas. We'll be back in full force on Dec 29th with another pile of awesome for you, so Merry Christmas, everyone!

Gun Nuts Radio: Sniper Babes Show!

Last night's Gun Nuts was quite a bit of fun, as we were joined by Ashley, Jen, and Francine from SniperBabes.com; the owner of SniperBabes came along for the ride as well. You can listen to all of last night's show right here. One of the topics of the show is the now available SniperBabes and Gun Nuts co-branded calendar, which has generated quite a bit of controversy amongst the online gun community. LabRat from the Atomic Nerds called in last night to address just that issue, but if you want to hear her call, you'll need to download last night's show. Last night's show is also available in .mp3 format for on the go listening.

Of course, Gun Nuts Radio is available for download on Gun Nuts Host - Gun Nuts Radio: The Next Generation of Shooting | Blog Talk Radio Feed - Gun Nuts Radio: The Next Generation of Shooting | Blog Talk Radio Feed for you iPod/iPhone users.

Last night's show was a great show - we were very happy to be joined by Roger and the ladies from SniperBabes, and I think that in the show we hit on an internal debate in the shooting community that's similar to the 1911 vs Glock debate inasmuch as it's an incredibly polarizing issue. The thing to remember at the end of the day is regardless of how you feel about the calendar, or Gun Nuts, or SniperBabes is that we are all on the same side. The goal is the same for all of us - to bring more people to the shooting and hunting sports and to expand and protect our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Check out last night's Gun Nuts Radio to hear the debate in full!

Cadets, Crime, and Databases

Those were the topics from last night's Gun Nuts Radio - the cadets at President Obama's speech, the appalling murders of law enforcement in Seattle and the utter breakdown in the system that caused them, and of course the Indiana carry permit database being published by a local Bloomington, IN paper.

Check out last night's episode by clicking here, or if you'd like an .mp3 version, click here. As usual, the show is available for regular subscription and download on Gun Nuts Host - Gun Nuts Radio: The Next Generation of Shooting | Blog Talk Radio Feed - Gun Nuts Radio: The Next Generation of Shooting | Blog Talk Radio Feed.

One of the things we talked about is the public service that we're going to provide here at Gun Nuts for our Hoosier readers: an authorized journalist database. For every paper that publishes a list, or creates a database of concealed carry permit holders, we'll add them to our growing list of "authorized journalists". It's something that we can do for the community, to let you know that there might be reporters living in your neighborhood so you can take the appropriate steps to protect your family.

Check out last night's Gun Nuts Radio for more information!

Gun Nuts Tonight!

We have got a good show for you tonight, a trinity of tantalizing topics for your enjoyment will be the focus of Gun Nuts Radio tonight at 9pm Eastern time. Here's the breakdown for tonight's show:

  1. The police shootings in Seattle, and the absolute failure of our justice system that allowed this to happen.

  2. The upcoming charity auction sponsored by Gun Nuts Media, DPMS, Leupold and Crimson Trace, with the proceeds benefiting Honored American Veterans Afield.

  3. The concealed carry database being published by a local Indiana paper, and what we can do to prevent this from happening in your state.

That's all going down tonight on Gun Nuts Radio, live at 9pm Eastern! We'll be airing at www.blogtalkradio.com/gunnuts, and we'd love for you to take part in the discussion by calling in live to the show at 347-539-5436 - join us tonight!
